Studio Models

Interested in the human form, I find the practice of drawing from a live model inspiring. To create a likeness, through quick gestures or a short pose, also a challenge. This is a small selection of sketches, compiled in Montreal, during the years I was active in an artist’s study group, through Stewart Hall, Pointe Claire. This group of professional artists came together once a week, no instruction was given, simply an opportunity for several hours, to study the figure. These sketches are meant to stand on their own, but I occasionally incorporate them into my new paintings.
